Air filter for motorcycles

Air filter for motorcycles

An engine's combustion chamber is protected against dust entry by the air filter. That is its primary purpose. The engine's sound and smoothness would be considered the secondary function.

Let's see what happens if the bike doesn't have an air filter.

✔The combustion chamber gets dusty. It combines with the fuel, which causes incomplete combustion.

✔The air-fuel combination is thrown off.

✔Gases that are toxic will be produced while the dust burns.

✔The dust will scrape the piston head and piston rings, reducing fuel efficiency, causing engine seizures, and     causing the engine parts to wear out more quickly.

✔Heightened sound

✔Diminished smoothness

How is the paper air filter on a bicycle cleaned?

Paper air filters come in two different varieties.

Paper air filters should always be changed at recommended intervals, however you can clean them once every 3000 kilometers.

Filters for dry paper air.

These are the ones that are frequently encountered. There is no coating of any kind on these. You may easily clean them by blowing soft air onto them and lightly tapping them against a flat surface. To avoid blockage, you can perform this once every 3000 kilometers. But in essence, it must be replaced at predetermined times.

Drenched paper air filters

These cannot be cleaned because they have an oily covering that acts as a glue to keep the dirt in place. It is best to swap them out at recommended times.

When should a bike's air filter be changed?

Every 2500 to 3000 km, clean; every 15,000 km, replace. Replace parts every 10,000 to 12,000 miles if the bike is ridden in a dusty or rainy area, and clean them every 1500 to 2000 miles.
